Japan Information Center Organizes Short-Term Fellowship Program for Young Overseas Researchers

JIIA invited three young researchers

Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA)

The Japan Information Center at JIIA invited three young researchers specializing in international relations--one each from Vietnam, Malaysia, and the Philippines--to participate in a three-month fellowship program ending in March.

During their stay in Japan, the researchers had opportunities to exchange opinions with scholars at universities and think tanks and with government officials. Through field trips, the three young fellows deepened their understanding of the country's territorial issues.

We expect the young fellows' experience at JIIA will promote international exchange between Japan and Southeast Asian countries and the building of stronger research networks.
